What is Lost Wax Casting
Lost wax casting is an expression of human ingenuity in manufacturing. The wax pattern is firstly made as a stand-in for the real metal part, which can accurately reflect the appearance and dimension of the product, and then zirconium sand and other high-strength materials are covered on the outside of the wax mold to make the shell mold. The cavity will be formed inside the shell mold when the wax pattern is melted, and then the liquid metal can be poured into the cavity to obtain a metal part that meets the requirements of the drawings.
Compared to traditional casting processes such as sand casting, the lost wax casting could produce the metal parts with the advantage of more precise dimensions and surface roughness.
Compared to die-casting and forging process, lost wax casting owns the extremely low tooling costs, and there is no limited of the minimum order quantity.
At the same time, because the process of lost wax casting is more complex, the production lead time of castings is also longer than other processes.

Before production, the CAE software could help GWM to forecast the castings defects and find out the best solution.
During the production, an ERP system was built up from incoming inspection to packaging inspection, from self-inspection by production staffs to sampling test by QC inspectors. Most of the data are uploaded to the server which make the quality of each batch traceable.
Before shipment, a strict outgoing inspection is implemented. Material report and dimension report would be sent to customers to confirm the goods condition.
In the event of the quality objection, a quality improvement team will be established including engineering, manufacturing and quality department. The team’s aim is to prevent the recurrence of the same quality problem by verifying root cause and implementing preventive actions.
